Service Description

A must class for all new beekeepers. This seven hour class covers what beekeeping is all about including but not limited to: - the social structure of bees - honey bee anatomy - the hive organization - how bees communicate - who does what in the hive - seasonal cycle in Texas - Honey! - Where and how to purchase bees and equipment - Protective equipment - Africanized bees - And a ton more Without understanding at a basic level these concepts you will experience more hardship and financial loss when you start up your hives as so much of what beekeepers do depends on this information. Plus it’s just plain fascinating to see how these little critters function! Class starts at 9:00 am.and we work through lunch so bring some brown bag munchies for lunch time. Iced tea and water will be available. Class ends around 3:30PM Wear closed shoes and no perfumes/aftershaves as we will be working in the bee yard for 1 1/2 hours. If you have a bee suit bring it. If not we will provide you with one. Refund Policy: Less than 24 hours no refund. Greater than 24 hours of class 80 percent refund as we have incurred costs for the webpage on registration and refunds. Sorry! If you can not make the date you signed up for due to a change in your schedule but want to move to another class there is no fee as long as it is greater than 24 hours from your class.
